From Theatre Lighting to Live Concerts
3-Day Hands-on Workshop for Beginners | DAS LOT, Vienna

An introduction to the artistic and technical fundamentals of stage lighting, from theatrical traditions to digital programming and live concert operation.

Combining theory and hands-on practice, participants will explore lighting equipment, DMX, patching, programming, and creative lighting design.

PROGRAMME
MONDAY, 19 OCTOBER | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
DAY 1 | Understanding Light
History, fundamentals, and lighting technology.

TUESDAY, 20 OCTOBER | 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
DAY 2 | Programming & Experimentation
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Workshop on DMX, patching, digital programming, and practical exercises.

WEDNESDAY, 21 OCTOBER | 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
DAY 3 | Live Concert Experience
Participants will join the lighting preparation and operation of a regular DAS LOT concert, observing the professional workflow and experimenting with live lighting operation under supervision.

No previous experience required.

What to bring: Participants must bring their own laptops with QLC+ installed before the workshop.
