Exhibition of the School Friedl Kubelka
Exhibition of the class of 2021/22 of the School Friedl Kubelka at the OstLicht. Gallery of Photography
WHAT WAS IN THE MEANTIME
What does it mean when a photograph materializes in space? How can history and places be reimagined, appropriated and thought? What lies between the images?
The extensive exhibition at Gallery OstLicht presents works by the graduates of the class of 2021/22 of the Friedl Kubelka School of Artistic Photography. The title alludes to the pre-printed memo pads that were once used to record conversations and serve as a memory aid, and addresses central themes of the show: It focuses on the photographic process of creation and reflection on the special properties of photography as a medium of memory, as well as sculptural stagings of the body and the artistic exploration of abstract spaces.
